                <text>&lt;p&gt;An image of the &amp;lsquo;Saint Michael&amp;rsquo; stained glass window at St Alban&amp;rsquo;s Anglican Church, Highgate.&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;This stained glass is one of three windows (the others depicting St Alban and St George) located at the rear of the church. It was originally purchased for St George&amp;rsquo;s Cathedral but was later discovered to be the wrong shape (rounded instead of pointed) and was donated to St Alban&amp;rsquo;s. The stained glass depicts Michael, archangel and commander of the Lord&amp;rsquo;s army, standing astride a vanquished dragon. It represents the defeat of the Dragon and his rebel army by Michael and his angels in the Book of Revelation. The Dragon, otherwise Satan, was cast out of Heaven and hurled down to Earth with his angels (&lt;em&gt;Revelation&lt;/em&gt;, 12:7-9). As is common in artistic renditions, Michael&amp;rsquo;s role as a warrior saint is symbolised by a suit of elaborate armour, a sword and a shield. His wings are conspicuous and he is clothed in white to reinforce his righteousness and service on the side of &amp;lsquo;Good&amp;rsquo;. During the medieval period, St Michael&amp;rsquo;s feast day (29 September) &amp;ndash; known as Michaelmas &amp;ndash; was not only an important Holy Day, but was also observed as a quarter day for the settling of rents and accounts.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;About St Alban&amp;rsquo;s:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;St Alban&amp;rsquo;s is a small limestone parish church located in Highgate, Western Australia. Built in 1889 (with enlargements in 1898) in a Victorian Romanesque style, it is one of the earliest buildings designed by well-known WA architect Sir J. J. Talbot-Hobbs (1864-1938). Its characteristically romanesque features include the semi-circular arches, the traditional load-bearing masonry of the buttresses and solid walling, and the small window and door openings in relation to the overall wall area. The St Alban&amp;rsquo;s church Hall was used briefly as a preparatory school by The Sisters of the Church of England between 1907 and 1915.                 <text>&lt;p&gt;An image of the &amp;lsquo;Saint George&amp;rsquo; stained glass window at St Alban&amp;rsquo;s Anglican Church, Highgate. This stained glass is one of three windows (the others depicting St Alban and St Michael) located at the rear of the church. It was originally purchased for St George&amp;rsquo;s Cathedral but was later discovered to be the wrong shape (rounded instead of pointed) and was donated to St Alban&amp;rsquo;s. The stained glass depicts George standing astride a vanquished winged-dragon. As is common in artistic renditions, George&amp;rsquo;s role as a warrior saint is symbolised by a suit of elaborate armour, a sword and a shield. His spear, which pierces the dragon, is also a processional cross and has a pennant with a cross flying from it.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;About St Alban&amp;rsquo;s:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;St Alban&amp;rsquo;s is a small limestone parish church located in Highgate, Western Australia. Built in 1889 (with enlargements in 1898) in a Victorian Romanesque style, it is one of the earliest buildings designed by well-known WA architect Sir J. J. Talbot-Hobbs (1864-1938). Its characteristically romanesque features include the semi-circular arches, the traditional load-bearing masonry of the buttresses and solid walling, and the small window and door openings in relation to the overall wall area. The St Alban&amp;rsquo;s church Hall was used briefly as a preparatory school by The Sisters of the Church of England between 1907 and 1915.                 <text>&lt;p&gt;This wooden pulpit was removed from the former Christ Church Congregational Church in Launceston, Tasmania, in 2002 (having originally been in another church building) and is now on display in the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston. The pulpit was made by Alexander Kidd, a foundational member of the new Congregational Church established in Launceston by John West (1809-1873) in 1839. West had emigrated from England as a missionary preacher the previous year. The pulpit&amp;rsquo;s pedestal and octagonal shape were added by Alexander Kidd (Jnr) in 1906. The pulpit is in the Gothic Revival style with the carved pointed arches and columns reminiscent of the architectural features of Gothic churches built in Europe between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

                <text>This oil on canvas painting by nineteenth-century artist Frederic Leighton was acquired by the Art Gallery of South Australia with funds from the Elder Bequest in 1899. Titled â€˜The Feigned Death of Julietâ€™ it depicts a scene from William Shakespeareâ€™s tragedy 'Romeo and Juliet'. In Act IV Scene V of the play, Count Paris arrives at the Capulet house with Friar Laurence to claim Juliet as his bride. However, instead of finding her ready to proceed to the church to be wed, he discovers Juliet seemingly lifeless in her chamber. In Leightonâ€™s painting, Juliet is shown lying on a bed surrounded by her mother, her nurse, her father and Count Paris. Friar Laurence hovers in the corner and a band of musicians congregate by the open door with their instruments. Although the play was written in the 1590s, it is set in Verona in an earlier (but unspecified) period. The characters in the painting are all depicted wearing styles of dress typical of the High Middle Ages. </text>

The annual Feast of Corpus Christi procession celebrates the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist and began in 1246.  It is attributed to the thirteenth-century Augustinian nun Juliana of LiÃ¨ge, who appealed for a celebration of the corpus christi continuously after having visions of the blessed sacrament in her youth. </text>

                <text>&lt;p&gt;Nina Levy&amp;rsquo;s review of Graeme Murphy&amp;rsquo;s production of Sergei Prokofiev&amp;rsquo;s Romeo and Juliet by the Australian Ballet appeared in the online version of The West Australian newspaper on October 12, 2012. It includes a photograph by Jeff Busby. Although the review is positive overall, Levy criticises the &amp;lsquo;variety of locations in time and place&amp;rsquo;. These include &amp;lsquo;medieval-looking vaulted rooms&amp;rsquo; which presumably had vaulted ceilings. Ribbed vaulting was a characteristic feature of Gothic architecture of the twelfth to sixteenth centuries. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
