                <text>&lt;p&gt;The Ashurst Memorial Window is in the west wall of St David&amp;rsquo;s Anglican Cathedral, Hobart. It was created by the firm Burlison and Grylls in London and installed in 1872. The window is made up of three lancet windows with a figure in each: Adam, Moses, and Abel. Below the each of the figures are scenes relating to their lives &amp;ndash; &amp;lsquo;The fall&amp;rsquo;, &amp;lsquo;Building the ark&amp;rsquo;, and &amp;lsquo;Cain and Abel&amp;rsquo;. These scenes are framed by a representation of delicate Gothic-style stonework features columns, arcading, pointed arches, and pointed finials.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

                <text>&lt;p&gt;The West Tamar Presbyterian Church, commonly referred to as the Auld Kirk (Scots for old church), is located on the banks of the Tamar River in the small Tasmanian town of Sidmouth. Construction of the church began in 1843 with the support of the first Presbyterian minister in the area, Reverend Alexander McKenzie, and James Reid. McKenzie&amp;rsquo;s replacement, Reverend James Garrett, became the first minister to take a service in the church in 1846. The church was built of stone rubble by convict and free labour and it is in the Gothic Revival style. It features lancet windows and a pointed arched entrance. The church was badly damaged by fire in 1900 and was not restored until 1913, which is when the present brick bellcote may have been added. 'Kirk' itself is a medieval word and meant 'church' in Old Norse. It was introduced to Scotland by Viking settlers. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;

                <text>&lt;p&gt;Image of some delegates of the 2010 conference of the Australian  Early Medieval Association (AEMA) held at The University of Western  Australia visiting a re-creation Viking ship built by Royce Carrig of  Perth. AEMA conferences commonly include at least one practical session  where delegates experience a re-creation of an aspect of the early  medieval world. The wooden ship was built from plans of an excavated  Viking ship, and can usually be found anchored in the Swan River at the  1st Pelican Point Sea Scout Group base in Crawley. It is based on one of  the five eleventh-century ships deliberately sunk near Skuldelev in  Denmark to create an underwater barrier protecting Roskilde.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

The Lord Mayor's Procession began in 1215, when the citizens of London were allowed to elect a mayor for the first time. The newly elected Mayor was required by the King's charter to make a journey from the City to Westminster to swear allegiance to the Crown. The procession still takes place today; known as the Lord May's Show. The groups perform the Cotswold, Borders (the border between Wales and England), and North West (of England) versions of Morris dancing, Morris dancing is an English folk dance that is attested from the late fifteenth century. It focuses on discourses about, debates over, and changing interpretations of i) Australiaâ€™s medievalist political and religious institutions and rituals, ii) its architecture, and iii) its civic environment.                 <text>&lt;p&gt;This Australian Mutual Provident Society building is in the centre of the Tasmanian city of Launceston. It was designed by local architects Lesley Gordon Corrie (1859-1918) and Alexander North (1858-1945) and built by J. and T. Gunn. It opened in 1892. An anonymous&amp;nbsp;report in the Launceston Examiner newspaper (November 19, 1892) gives the particulars of the building, which is described as being in the Florentine Romanesque style. Romanesque features of the stone building include the semi-circular window arches with molding and decorated columns on the upper floor, the semi-circular arch above the company monogram, the use of foliage motifs, and the frieze above the entrance.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Florence has a number of extant Romanesque buildings built between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries. The buildings provided inspiration for some of the Florentine architects of the Renaissance.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
