McCay and produced by one of the Company’s automotive staff, Mr G. W. Craggs. Although no further details about the play are provided, the setting is described as ‘the subterranean laboratory of medieval alchemists’.

The musical, written by Alan Jay Lerner in 1960, is based on Arthurian legend and tells the story of Arthur’s marriage to Guinevere, his establishment of the Round Table, the love triangle that ensued between Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot and the rescue of Guinevere by Lancelot when she was sentenced to death for her adultery.
