Pictured is a turned wooden bowl, a serrated-edged knife with a carved handle, a steel fork with two tines, a spoon, and an ‘ash glazed’ goblet. There is also a candle and candle-holder with scrolled feet, presumably included to lend atmosphere to the ‘still life’ composition. These items roughly approximate the kinds of everyday implements that would have been used by the knights at mealtimes in the early fifteenth century.
