In April 1970, the Hutt River Province seceded from Australia and has functioned since as a principality under the sovereignty of Prince Leonard I and his wife Princess Shirley. The PHR’s Royal College of Heraldry established an extensive system of heraldic honours, and during the course of this interview Prince Leonard performs a knighthood ceremony to admit Brendan Hutchens into the Royal Order of the Hutt River Province principality.
