Description

The photograph shows a building at the former Hutchins School in Hobart, Tasmania. Although this building is sympathetic to the main 1849 building on the site designed by William Archer, this building was a later addition and does not feature in an 1890 photograph. This later building is also in the Gothic style, featuring an arcade with pointed arched entrance ways, pointed arched windows on the second storey, and small towers on the corners.

For the central building on the site see http://ausmed.arts.uwa.edu.au/items/show/880.
